Women are often dynamic ambassadors of change, their full and active participation in decision making equal to men is essential to ensure greater responsiveness to citizens’ needs also to build and sustain democracies over the world. Yet women still have far to go towards equal representation in positions of power and leadership, whether in corporate boardrooms or presidential cabinets.

Transforming those extremist ideologies that are at the roots of an armed movement should become a tool that actors concerned about peacebuilding, peace durability, and security introduce during peace talks. Fighting the ideas that offer a starting ground to conflicts can help guarantee that the causes that were initially present to make the conflict erupt will not be reassembled anymore post-peace agreements and conflict resolution.

Women are less likely to have access to the internet in comparison with men. This phenomena is known as the gender digital divide. As the graphic below illustrates, overall, there is a 26% difference worldwide in female access to the internet, with 327 million fewer women having access when compared to men. This is intrinsically tied to online violence against women in that women are less likely to have the training and digital awareness to enter the digital space with full knowledge about their rights, reporting mechanisms, and privacy standards.

According to USAfacts.org, since 2018 alone, the U.S has welcomed over 45 million immigrants from all over the world. The people of the United States are undoubtedly on an incredible precipice of power. In less than 10 days the national guard was unleashed on legal protestors. Over a 100 journalists were attacked by police while covering the protest; and in both Los Angeles and New York police officers drove their vehicles into crowds of people. All of which brings into question the strength of our ‘democracy’ and the public utility of police.

“When America sneezes the entire world catches the cold”, or at least that is what most folks have been using as the result of worldwide protests. The United States of America is a superpower. They contribute to several aspects of our lives in a way that is impactful.

In March 2019, ISIS was allegedly defeated, however, history makes us ask ourselves if territorially defeating a terrorist group makes its ideology vanish, recalling that ISIS was created from scattered cells of Al-Qaeda when it was at its lowest point.
